We are sad to announce that Mrs Muriel Shearme, one of the founder members of the Club, passed away last week, days before her 99th birthday. As well as being a founder member, Muriel was the Club's Secretary for many years and a dedicated and enthusiastic supporter of the Club until health issues prevented her from attending concerts. Thanks to Ensemble Hesperi for a great concert on Saturday evening.

We loved the evocation of London musical life 300 years ago, and the huge variety of music (particularly the Scotch tunes!) all played so professionally.  We also appreciated such a good audience joining us for the evening.

This brings our season to an end, we thank everyone for coming along and joining us for the music.  We start again at the end of September with a new season of varied concerts, look out for the programme and ticket sales being announced in the Summer!

  • Flute and Harp Recital Saturday 24th February 2024
  •  Date Posted: Wed, 7 Feb 2024
We have some minor changes to the programme for Frederico Paixiao and Milo Harper's recital on the 24th February.  We are advised by Fred this is a result of some "road testing" of the overall programme in recent concerts.  The slightly reduced programme is shown on the website concert page.

It should be a fascinating concert, with the instrument combination sounding good in the church acoustic, and might help us turn our minds to Spring!  Also, do remember that we have a "Spring Special" price offer for internet purchase of tickets for this concert and Ensemble Hesperi.
