|Thanks to the Vida Guitar Quartet on Saturday evening for a great concert which we all enjoyed, particularly Chris's "seventh string". It was heartening to see our biggest audience of the season as well.|

|It seems a long time since our recital in November, but we are back with a wonderful evening of music on 26th February. We have never had a guitar quartet before , but the Vida Quartet should be a great way to start as it brings together four guitarists of exceptional artistry who share a passion for chamber music.|

|Our next concert is on Saturday 27th November at 7.30pm. Dennis Brain, one of this country's greatest French Horn players, was born 100 years ago this year. To celebrate his centenary, exciting young horn player, Alexei Watkins, with pianist Harry Rylance, has put together a programme of some of the music most closely associated with Dennis. He will also hold a Q and A session about the music and the instrument.|

|The Mithras Ensemble (BBC Radio3 New Generation Artists) are playing for us on Saturday, 7.30pm at the Amersham Free Church. Their programme features trios by Haydn, Faure and Dvorak.|

|Undeterred by the stormy weather, an enthusiastic audience heard pianist Viv McLean give an exhilarating performance of works by Beethoven, Chopin and Gershwin last Saturday night.|
|The Central Band of the Royal Air Force is giving a concert at the King's Church, Amersham at 7.30pm on Thursday 21 October in aid of the RAF Music Charitable Trust. Several members and supporters of the Club have family ties to the Band which is always exciting to listen to.|
